State Representative Houston Gaines has been re-elected as Vice Chairman of the House Majority Caucus for the 2025-2026 legislative term. The announcement was made by the House Republican Caucus.
Gaines expressed his gratitude, stating, "I am honored by the opportunity to serve again as the Majority Caucus Vice-Chairman and to have the confidence of my colleagues in the Republican Caucus." He highlighted recent electoral successes, noting, "Last week, House Republicans had a decisive victory at the ballot box, retaining a strong majority in the House – a testament to House Republicans continuing to deliver sound policy to help all Georgians."
As Vice Chairman, Gaines will continue his work facilitating member services and overseeing political efforts such as incumbent re-election, candidate recruitment, and caucus fundraising. He also presides over meetings in the absence of the chair.
Looking ahead to future legislative sessions, Gaines stated: "Our House leadership team will maintain our focus on strengthening our economy, investing in public safety and improving educational outcomes in our state. I look forward to another productive legislative session when we return to the Capitol."
