State Representative Kim Schofield will join Pastor Jessie Simms and local leaders for the "Gas on God" event in College Park, Georgia. The event is scheduled for November 23, 2024, from 1 to 4 p.m. at a Chevron gas station.

Pastor Jessie Simms, in collaboration with College Park Mayor Bianca Motley Broom and Councilwoman Tracie Arnold, organized the event to provide assistance to residents before Thanksgiving. "Gas on God" will offer free gas up to $50 per vehicle for those in need.

Rep. Schofield highlighted the importance of this initiative: “We know that many people in our community face difficult financial situations, especially as we approach the holidays,” she said. She expressed hope that providing free gas would alleviate some burdens and bring hope during Thanksgiving. “This event is a reflection of the values of generosity, service and unity that are integral to the spirit of Thanksgiving.”

The event represents Rep. Schofield’s dedication to working with Mayor Broom and Councilmember Arnold to support the community in College Park. She emphasized collaboration among various leaders and organizations: “We are excited to partner with faith, elected leaders, community leaders and local organizations to make this event a success,” she stated.

The "Gas on God" initiative aims primarily at individuals who could benefit most from such support. Organizers advise early arrival due to limited supplies.
