The Senate Department of Corrections Facilities Study Committee is set to convene for its third meeting on Friday, November 15, at 10:00 a.m. The hearing will be chaired by Majority Whip Sen. Randy Robertson (R–Cataula). The event will take place at the State Capitol in Atlanta and is open to the public. Those unable to attend in person can watch the proceedings via live stream on the Senate website.
The committee was established to investigate current challenges faced by the Georgia Department of Corrections in maintaining secure and safe facilities. It aims to assess whether legislative action is needed to support both employees and those under custody within these institutions.
