The Georgia office of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has awarded State Representative Mike Cheokas with its Guardian of Small Business award. This accolade is given to lawmakers who have demonstrated support for small businesses in Georgia.
Rep. Cheokas, representing the 151st District, received the award from NFIB State Director Hunter Loggins at a small business town hall held at Uncorked by Georgia Bob’s in Byron, which is an NFIB member business.
“Representative Cheokas has been a strong supporter of Georgia’s job creators since he was elected 20 years ago,” said Hunter Loggins. “He has achieved a 100% NFIB voting record in the Georgia House, siding with small business owners on issues ranging from insurance reform to eliminating burdensome regulations."
Loggins also highlighted Rep. Cheokas's sponsorship of House Bill 808 during this year’s General Assembly session. The bill aims to reduce the tangible personal property tax burden on small businesses in Georgia and was signed by Governor Kemp in May. The legislation will be subject to voter approval in November.
“On behalf of our members, I’m proud to present this award to Representative Cheokas,” Loggins concluded.
