The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced lane closures around Interstate 85 at State Route 42/North Druid Hills Road due to construction activities. The closures, weather permitting, will affect traffic from February 21 through March 2, 2025.
Daytime closures are scheduled for Saturday, February 22, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., impacting the northbound frontage road on I-85 and eastbound lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road. A continuous closure is planned from Monday, February 24, at 6 a.m. until Monday, March 3, at 6 a.m., affecting the left lane on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound.
Overnight closures will occur between Friday, February 21, and Sunday, February 23, as well as from Monday, February 24 through Friday, February 28. These will involve various lanes on I-85 and SR 42/North Druid Hills Road.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution in work zones. Detour routes are available for those affected by the closures. For real-time updates on traffic conditions and work status, GDOT encourages drivers to call "511," visit "511ga.org," or use the Georgia "511 app."
