The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced planned lane closures on I-285 and SR 400 as part of the Transform 285/400 Project. These closures are scheduled to take place from February 20 through February 24, 2025, contingent on weather conditions.

According to GDOT, contractors will close lanes on I-285 eastbound and westbound, as well as SR 400 northbound and southbound, for punch list activities. "Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will close lanes on I-285 eastbound and westbound and SR 400 northbound and southbound for punch list activities," stated the department. Motorists can expect potential delays, reduced speeds, and detours in some areas.

Continuous weekend closures are set from Friday, February 21 at 9 p.m. until Monday, February 24 at 5 a.m., affecting one right lane on SR 400 southbound between Mount Vernon Highway and Hammond Drive.

Daytime closures include a left lane closure on I-285 eastbound from Glenridge Drive to Peachtree Dunwoody Road on Friday, February 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and right lane pacing on Roswell Road southbound at I-285 on Saturday, February 22 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Overnight closures will occur starting Thursday, February 20 at 9 p.m., with Abernathy Road fully closed until Friday morning at 5 a.m. Detours have been mapped out for motorists affected by these closures.

The GDOT advises drivers to reduce speed while traveling through work zones and remain vigilant for workers. For real-time updates on work status and traffic conditions, travelers are encouraged to call the state's helpline or visit their website.
