The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) has announced temporary lane closures on the I-285/I-20 East Interchange project, weather permitting. The construction aims to reconstruct ramps at the interchange and add new lanes along I-20 east of the interchange and I-285 north of it.
Closures are scheduled from Monday, February 24, through Saturday, March 1, 2025. Daytime closures will occur from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., affecting I-20 eastbound lanes from Wesley Chapel Road to Panola Road and other nearby sections. Flagging operations will be conducted on Miller Road between Panola Industrial Boulevard and Chatooga Drive during this period.
Overnight closures will take place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., with some variations in timing for specific locations. These will affect both directions of I-20, including collector-distributor lanes and segments between Columbia Drive and Wesley Chapel Road. Additional overnight flagging operations are planned for Snapfinger Road under the I-285 overpass.
Traffic pacing operations will also be implemented during these times, particularly on sections from Wesley Chapel Road to Columbia Drive and across various points between the I-285 Interchange and Panola Road.
The Miller Road Bridge over I-20 remains closed until approximately September 2025 due to ongoing work.
