The Georgia Senate has approved Senate Bill 28, known as the Red Tape Rollback Act of 2025. This legislation aims to streamline state government operations and reduce regulatory burdens on small businesses.
NFIB State Director Hunter Loggins expressed support for the bill, stating, "SB 28, part of Lt. Gov. Burt Jones’ ongoing effort to make state government more efficient, is one of NFIB’s top priorities in this year’s General Assembly."
Loggins highlighted the challenges faced by small businesses due to economic pressures and uncertainty. He explained that SB 28 seeks to address these issues by allowing new bills in the General Assembly to include a small business impact statement. The bill also proposes improvements in adopting new administrative rules and mandates regular reviews to eliminate outdated or unnecessary regulations.
"The Red Tape Rollback Act of 2025 is a commonsense measure that will help ensure new laws do more good than harm for small businesses," Loggins said. He urged the Georgia House to pass the bill promptly so it can be signed into law by Governor Kemp.
