The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced planned lane closures on Interstate 85 at State Route 42/North Druid Hills Road due to construction activities. These closures are scheduled from February 28 through March 9, 2025, and are contingent upon weather conditions.

Daytime closures will occur on Saturday, March 1, and Saturday, March 8, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., affecting the right lane on I-85 northbound Frontage Road and the left lane on the I-85 northbound off-ramp to SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound until 11 a.m. From Monday, March 3 through Friday, March 7, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., the right lane on I-85 northbound Frontage Road will also be closed.

A continuous closure began on February 24 at SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound from I-85 to Tullie Road and will continue until March 2 at 6 a.m. Overnight closures are planned for February 28 through March 2 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., affecting lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound at New Executive Park Drive and other areas.

Motorists should be aware of detours such as using SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound to access westbound lanes or utilizing Clairmont Road for southbound travel. The GDOT advises drivers to expect delays and exercise caution in work zones.

For real-time updates on traffic conditions and work status, motorists can call "511," visit "511ga.org," or use the Georgia "511" app. Further project details are available online.
