The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced that maintenance crews will close the two left southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Catoosa County overnight from Wednesday into Thursday morning. The closure is necessary to repair a section of the roadway between mileposts 346 and 345.
The work is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 19, starting at 8 p.m., and will continue until Thursday, March 20, at 4 a.m., weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution while traveling through the work zones. Drivers should reduce their speed and stay informed about traffic conditions by calling 511, visiting the website 511ga.org, or using the Georgia 511 app.
"Our maintenance team members who repair roads and bridges and our project teams who oversee construction projects are continuing their essential work," GDOT stated. They emphasized that workers are following sanitary practices recommended by health agencies to protect themselves and the public from COVID-19.
