The Georgia House of Representatives has passed Senate Bill 68, a tort reform measure introduced by Governor Brian Kemp. The bill aims to address the issue of excessive lawsuits and seeks to establish a more balanced litigation environment in the state's courtrooms. Following its passage in the House, the legislation will now return to the Senate for further consideration.

House Speaker Jon Burns expressed his support for the bill, stating, "Today, the Georgia House took another step toward delivering much-needed reform to our state’s current litigation environment." He added that the solutions offered by Senate Bill 68 are designed to protect Georgians' rights while ensuring fairness in judicial proceedings. Burns emphasized collaboration with the Senate to advance this lawsuit reform.
