Rep. Douglas is eager to contribute to enhancing opportunities for students through sports. “By strengthening high school athletics, we can create more opportunities for young learners to grow, both on and off the field,” he said. He looks forward to collaborating with committee members in their efforts.
The Georgia High School Athletics Overview Committee was established under Senate Bill 288, signed into law by former Governor Nathan Deal in 2014. The committee includes members from both the Georgia House of Representatives and State Senate. It is tasked with evaluating high school athletic associations' performance concerning fairness and equity while promoting academic achievement and good sportsmanship.
