State Representative El-Mahdi Holly (D-Stockbridge), together with the Black Male Initiative Georgia, is set to host the Third Annual Black Men and Boys Day on March 27, 2025. The event will take place at 1:45 p.m. in room 216 of the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta.
The theme for this year's gathering is “The State of the Black Male.” It aims to increase awareness and encourage collaborative efforts to empower Black men and boys throughout Georgia while addressing various issues they face across the state.
Representative Holly and John Taylor, executive director of the Black Male Initiative Georgia, will lead discussions focusing on the challenges encountered by Black men and boys in Georgia. They plan to discuss their current situation and initiatives being implemented to improve outcomes in areas such as education, employment, health, and community engagement. The event will also cover legislation concerning Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, criminalization, incarceration, and mental health. Strategies and initiatives aimed at supporting Black men and boys will be presented.
