Governor Brian P. Kemp announced that Flock Safety, a technology solutions provider based in Georgia, is set to open a new manufacturing facility in Smyrna. The facility, which covers 97,000 square feet, signifies a $10 million investment and is expected to create 210 new jobs over the next three years.

“At Flock Safety, we feel fortunate to have our roots in Georgia,” said Garrett Langley, Founder and CEO of Flock Safety. “Drone as First Responder technology stands to transform emergency response, and these made-in-America, NDAA-compliant drones will have a transformative impact on the local communities we aim to serve.”

Flock Safety was founded in Georgia in 2017 and currently supports over 250 jobs in the state. The company has collaborated with law enforcement agencies and businesses within Georgia to deploy their technology aimed at solving and reducing crime.

The new facility will focus on producing advanced public safety tools, including Flock Safety’s Drone as First Responder technology, refurbishing devices, and assembling solar panels. Hiring has begun, with a target to be fully operational by 2027.

“Smyrna’s convenient location and diverse talent pool make the city an ideal environment for corporate innovation opportunities,” said Smyrna Mayor Derek Norton. “We appreciate Flock’s confidence in Smyrna and welcome them to our community.”

Cobb County has been an active partner with Flock Safety. Chairwoman Lisa Cupid of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners stated, “We have been early partners with Flock Safety by deploying their public safety technology, and I am happy to see this relationship evolve in our community.”

Katie Kirkpatrick, President & CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber, noted, “Flock Safety’s expansion is yet another Georgia business success story. This growth in Cobb County shows why companies that start here stay, put down roots, and keep thriving.”

Caroline Kinchler, Senior Regional Project Manager, represented the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Global Commerce team for this project, collaborating with various local entities.

GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson remarked, “Georgia’s strength in aerospace innovation and manufacturing is driven by strategic investments in education and a collaborative, business-friendly environment. Congratulations to Flock Safety on launching the first of its aerospace-focused manufacturing operations, and to Cobb County and the greater metro Atlanta community on this exciting milestone.”

Flock Safety is known for its end-to-end safety technology platform, aimed at uniting cities, law enforcement agencies, businesses, and communities in a nationwide network to enhance public safety. The company assures adherence to high standards of privacy and data integrity.
