Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has announced a "full by-hand recount in each county" of the presidential race will take place due to the very slim margins between President Trump and challenger Joe Biden, according to media reports.
“It is our responsibility and duty to make sure that all legal votes are counted and counted properly,” said state Rep. Vernon Jones (D-Lithonia) who will be a featured speaker on Saturday, Nov. 14 at the nationwide March for Trump rally on Freedom Plaza at 12 Noon in Washington, D.C. “We are not a third-world country. We are a country of rules and laws and we have the Constitution to stand behind.”
Jones’ comments come after Georgia Congressman Jody Hice, a Republican, told Newsmax TV that Fulton County recognized there had been a significant issue on reporting last week.
“WXI, the NBC television affiliate, is already saying that this is significantly going to change the count in favor of President Trump,” Congressman Hice said. “At the same time, Gwinnett County has come out in the last hour or so indicating that they likewise have some glitches. They are stopping counting because of glitches in the Dominion voting machine system. Of course, we know in Michigan, the glitches up there actually ended up reversing the elections altogether because the glitches were flipping Republican votes in favor of Biden and down the ticket.”
President-elect Biden has been declared the winner in Michigan with a current lead of some 147,000 votes throughout the state. Hice isn't the only official pointing a finger at Dominion.
Former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell alleged that people connected to high-ranking Democrats used the Dominion Voting System fraudulently.
"They have invested in it for their own reasons and are using it to commit this fraud to steal votes. I think they’ve even stolen them from other Democrats in their own party who should be outraged about this also," Powell told reporters.
According to the Associated Press, Joe Biden won the state of Georgia with 49.5% of votes compared to 49.2% for President Trump.
However, Trump supporters are skeptical.
“We would be irresponsible not to follow up on these allegations and not follow up on some of these actual facts,” Jones told the Peach Tree Times. “People in Georgia are concerned that this election has been stolen. Whether you’re a Democrat or Republican, you would think everybody wants a fair and transparent election.”
As previously reported, Jones is a Democrat who came out in support of President Trump mid-year. Jones did not seek re-election. Instead, he is on the advisory board of Black Voices for Trump.
“There is litigation taking place across the country as it relates to not only the process but also the machines,” he said. “We have to take a comprehensive look not only at the hardware but also at the people who handle these ballots. The biggest room for fraud has always been among mail-in ballots. That's why the Democrats and Stacey Abrams’ Fair Fight, or rather Unfair Fight, were pushing these mail-in ballots because they know they can be manipulated.”
Fair Fight is a national voting rights organization founded by Abrams in 2018. A Democrat, Abrams is a former member of the Georgia House of Representatives.
