Gwinnett Technical College issued the following announcement.

Gwinnett Technical College has been designated a Military Spouse Friendly® School for the 2021-2022 academic year by Viqtory media. This marks the first year Gwinnett Tech has been recognized as a military spouse college.

The honor, included in an annual companion list to the company’s “Military Friendly” schools, also credited Gwinnett Tech for its veteran-oriented campus culture. The College is also ranked as a Military Friendly Gold® School.

“Gwinnett Tech understands that spouse and dependents also are transitioning from military to civilian life, and Gwinnett Tech looks to provide resources for them to succeed in this transition. We support veterans and their support system,” states Travis Simpson, Veterans Affairs Coordinator.

Gwinnett Tech Military Spouse Services include:

  • Priority registration
  • On-campus and virtual VA information sessions
  • Student Veteran Organization
  • Laptop Lending Program
  • Veteran family events
  • VA Scholarships
  • Dedicated computer lab
Military Times has ranked Gwinnett Tech second in the nation among career and technical colleges for its commitment to education and providing opportunities to America’s veterans, service members, and families.

Institutions earning the Military Spouse Friendly® School designation were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,200 schools participated in the 2021-2022 survey, with 747 schools earning the designation as a Military Friendly School, of which 194 were selected for the Military Spouse Friendly Schools list.
