Georgia redshirt freshman receiver Ladd McConkey has been named SEC Freshmen of the Week, snaring the top-ranked Bulldogs eighth weekly honor of the season.
McConkey had five catches for 134 yards and a touchdown in Georgia’s 34-10 road win over then No. 18 Auburn on Oct. 9. McConkey’s touchdown grab came on a career-long 60-yard pass that gave the Bulldogs a 24-3 lead late in the third quarter, according to GeorgiaDogs.com.
Other weekly award winners for the Bulldogs over the first six weeks of the season include: senior Devonte Wyatt (defensive lineman, Arkansas), freshman Brock Bowers (tight end, Vanderbilt), junior Nolan Smith (linebacker, South Carolina), freshman Adonai Mitchell (wide receiver, South Carolina), senior Stetson Bennett (quarterback, UAB), senior Christopher Smith (defensive back, Clemson) and senior Jordan Davis (defensive lineman, Clemson).
