Authorities are searching for alleged victims of a Gwinnett County man accused of operating as a dentist without a license.

Atlanta’s FOX 5 reported that a probe into Gerardo S. Lossada intensified after one victim came forward, eliciting fear among investigators that there could be many others who suffered pain and disfigurement under his care.

According to the station, Lossada’s neighbors said activity in front of his residence was common.

"I saw cars and people, but I assumed they lived there," one neighbor said according to FOX 5.

Lossada drew several customers because his rates were supposedly affordable, WSB-TV reported.

Authorities told WSB-TV that patients were rendered disfigured following their appointments at the suburban Atlanta home.

“They think they are getting a good deal, and they are not,” an unidentified neighbor told Atlanta’s CBS affiliate.

According to investigators, an Alpharetta woman saw Lossada to have braces installed. Having paid over $400 for the dental work, the woman was left disfigured and sought the services of another specialist, WSB-TV reported.

Investigators said that the patient told them that she believed Lossada received dental assistant training in his native Venezuela but didn’t train as an actual dentist.

During a search of the residence, authorities said, Gwinnett County deputies uncovered evidence that he was running a practice without credentials on individuals.

Investigators added that Lossada apparently saw patients in a downstairs room next to the garage.

Gwinnett County Jail records show the suspect posted a $1,300 bond, FOX 5 reported.

A woman who identified herself as the suspect’s wife told WSB-TV that it was all a misunderstanding but said she couldn’t speak any further without the approval of the couple’s attorney.

Authorities are urging anyone who was a patient of Lossada’s or has information on the case to contact them anonymously at 770-619-6655.
