The University of Georgia women's gymnastics team last month announced three additions to its 2022 signing class.

Head coach Courtney Kupets Carter said in a news release that Sidney Fitzgerald of Evans, Nicole King of Johns Creek and Eryn Williams of Knoxville, Tennessee, will join a group of future GymDogs that includes Naya Howard of Chesapeake, Virginia, Jacquelyn (Jacquie) Moran of Santa Cruz, California, and Ariel Posen of Manalapan, New Jersey.

"The addition of Sidney, Nicole, and Eryn enhances an already top-notch recruiting class," Kupets Carter said on the GymDogs’ website. "What's so great about this class as a whole is that they'll be ready to contribute right away in competition. With this recruiting class, and those to come, Georgia gymnastics is making it's way to the top. Their skills and technique are aspects we strive for as a program and they'll be bringing them day one."

Trained by C&C Gymnastics, Fitzgerald was a national qualifier in 2021 and a member of the first place team at nationals in addition to being a member of the National Honor Society, the release said.

According to Fitzgerald, it’s been a lifelong dream of hers to join the GymDogs.

"I remember cheering on the GymDogs in Stegman as a little girl," Fitzgerald said in the release. "It's always been a dream of mine to be a part of this incredible program. In addition, I am blessed to be able to further my education at such a prestigious university. I cannot wait to get started."

King did her training with BIO Gymnastics and was a 2021 Level 10 State Champion on vault and a Junior Olympics Nationals Qualifier, as well as the Level 9 Regional Champion in the all-around, bars, and vault in 2019.

"I chose UGA because I love everything about it- from the supportive coaches that will foster my development to the amazing facilities and high-level academics," King said in the release. "I am grateful to be close to home and to have the support of friends and family. I can't wait to be a Dawg."

Williams comes to Athens by way of Premier Athletics from which she earned 2021 Optional Gymnast of the Year.

She said UGA has everything she ever wanted in a college.

“Not only does UGA offer amazing facilities and an incredible coaching staff, but also high-level academics, enthusiastic sports fans, and such a beautiful campus,” Williams said in the release. “The entire atmosphere of Georgia is so unmatched and when I first arrived in Athens, I instantly knew this is where I wanted to be for the next four years.”
