A decision could be made any day by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on whether she’ll charge former President Donald Trump and others for allegedly trying to coerce Georgia officials to rescind Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential election victory in the Peach State.

"I believe in 2022 a decision will be made in that case," Willis told the Associated Press, Atlanta’s FOX5 reported. "I certainly think that in the first half of the year that decisions will be made."

The AP reported that although Willis declined to go into the specifics about the investigation, she confirmed that there’s a focus on an early January 2021 phone call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

Georgia was considered among the states that were up for grabs in the hotly contested race for the White House more than a year ago.

It was among the last to call a winner, with the normally red-leaning state awarding its 16 electoral votes to Biden, much to the chagrin of Trump and his supporters. Biden carried Georgia by more than 11,000 votes.

According to Willis, the investigation lacks deadlines, and her staff has been directed to work thoroughly.

She hasn’t decided whether to request the chief judge of the Fulton County Superior Court to impanel a special grand jury, the AP reported.

It added that a spokesman for the former president decried the investigation as a politically motivated "witch hunt."

Willis asserted that she won’t let public opinion influence how she conducts the investigation.

"I just think the public should be patient," she said. "Go on, lead your lives, trust that they’ve elected a district attorney that knows that this is a serious issue, takes it seriously and we’re doing our job here," she told the AP.

Georgia isn’t the only state with a criminal investigation involving the 45th president.

New York prosecutors have subpoenaed Trump and his two of his children, Donald Jr. and Ivanka, in their investigation of the Trump Organization.
