Georgia Bulldogs high-jumper Elena Kulichenko was named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Co-Freshman of the Week.

Kulichenko earned the Lady Bulldogs the award for the second consecutive week after sprinter Kenondra Davis won it the previous week, the Bulldogs reported on their site.

"Make that two in a row! Elena Kulichenko gives the #Dawgs 2nd straight #SEC Women's Freshman of the Week honor," the Georgia Bulldogs said in a post on its track and field Twitter account on Jan. 25.

In her debut collegiate meet at the Samford Invite, Kulichenko finished first after hitting the 6-foot mark in the high jump, setting a new record for that particular meet, the Bulldogs reported.

Kulichenko, a true freshman, is currently the highest-ranked freshman in America, the Bulldogs reported. Kulichenko shares the SEC's award with the South Carolina Gamecocks' Jayla Jamison.

Kulichenko is originally from Odintsovo, Russia, the Bulldogs reported. In addition to being the highest-ranked freshman in the country, she is ranked at No. 8 overall.
