A recent survey by the League of American Workers (LAW) reveals that only 17 percent of independent voters in Georgia view 'Bidenomics' favorably. The poll also found a general disapproval of President Biden's overall handling of the economy, with a nearly two to one margin. Furthermore, 81 percent of the respondents believed that the country was headed in the wrong direction.

According to the results from North Star Opinion Research, who conducted the poll, 'Bidenomics' was viewed favorably by just 21% of Georgians. This figure includes the aforementioned 17% of independents. Among those who had heard the term prior to participating in the survey - approximately 59 percent of voters - a significant majority (64 percent) expressed an unfavorable view.

The poll also discovered that independent voters believed that the country was on an incorrect course by an 81-to-12 percent margin — a higher ratio than the 76-to-16 percent margin among all voters. Additionally, two-thirds (67 percent) of independent voters felt that the American Dream was unattainable for Georgians.

Despite these concerns over its popularity, President Biden has remained committed to his 'Bidenomics' message, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. As part of his re-election campaign for 2024, he continues to emphasize this economic strategy. Last month at an event in Wisconsin, Biden explained his economic approach: "When you increase the middle-class, the poor have a shot and the wealthy still do very well. The middle-class does well and we all do well. That’s what we call Bidenomics."

U.S. Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Mich.), chair of the House Oversight Committee's Subcommittee on Health Care and Financial Services, spoke about inflation during a hearing on its impact on the economy under Biden's administration: "When President Biden was sworn into office in January 2021, he inherited a 1.4 percent inflation rate. Inflation today is more than two and a half times the rate he inherited. And remember – inflation is cumulative. Over the last two years, total inflation has increased by over 17 percent."

LAW, established in 2022, conducts research and develops proposals for public policies impacting American workers and the economy.
