State Representative Carmen Rice (R-Columbus) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Harris County Courthouse for the 2023-2024 legislative term. The swearing-in ceremony marks the start of Rep. Rice’s first term in the Georgia General Assembly.

“I am thankful to the people of District 139 for selecting me to be their Representative in the General Assembly,” said Rep. Rice. “I am excited to represent the people of Muscogee and Harris counties during this legislative term and for the opportunity to help further conservative policies for Georgians and deliver for the people back home.”

Rep. Rice previously served as the Chair of the Muscogee County Republican Party. She was elected during a special election to succeed former State Rep. Richard Smith (R-Columbus), Chairman of the House Committee on Rules.
