State Representative Jason Ridley (R-Chatsworth) has been appointed by Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) to serve on the House Study Committee on Private Water Systems.
“I am honored to be appointed to this important study committee,” said Rep. Ridley. “As we all know, water is vital for sustaining life and operating establishments. Much of Georgia runs on both public and private water systems, and we must continue to support and recommend policies that ensure access to this essential resource. I look forward to learning more about the issues surrounding private water systems and finding solutions for Georgia’s citizens.”
The House Study Committee on Private Water Systems was established following the adoption of House Resolution 1498 during the 2024 legislative session. This study committee will evaluate all aspects of the operation of private water systems in the state and may make recommendations for proposed legislation ahead of the 2025 legislative session.
Speaker Burns also appointed State Representatives Trey Rhodes (R-Greensboro), Robert Dickey (R-Musella), Lynn Smith (R-Newnan), Debbie Buckner (D-Junction City), Bill Hitchens (R-Rincon), and Beth Camp (R-Concord) as members of the study committee. Mr. Jason Shaw, Public Service Commissioner, will serve as the non-legislative member.
