ATLANTA (August 26, 2024) — On Wednesday, August 28, at 9:00 a.m., the Senate Department of Corrections Facilities Study Committee, chaired by Majority Whip Sen. Randy Robertson (R–Cataula), will hold its second hearing in room 341 of the Capitol building.

This event is open to the public and will be live-streamed on the Senate website.

ABOUT THE MEETING:

The meeting will include testimony from personnel members at the Georgia Department of Corrections and information related to employee investigations. The Department of Corrections Facilities Study Committee was created to examine current issues impacting the Georgia Department of Corrections’ ability to operate secure and safe facilities. The committee will determine whether legislative measures are necessary to ensure the welfare of the department’s employees and those in its custody.
