The Georgia House of Representatives' Committee on Assignments has reappointed State Representative Butch Parrish (R-Swainsboro) as Chairman of both the House Rules Committee and the Special Committee on Healthcare.

"I am incredibly honored to have the continued trust and confidence of Speaker Jon Burns and my colleagues in the House to serve in this role," stated Rep. Parrish. "As Rules Chairman, I will continue to champion policies that will make a meaningful impact on my constituents and the citizens of Georgia in every corner of our great state."

The Committee on Assignments, led by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is responsible for assigning members to various committees within the Georgia House of Representatives.

The House Rules Committee is tasked with managing the progression of legislation from committee approval to determining which bills should be debated and voted upon on the House floor.

Additionally, the Special Committee on Healthcare will manage and coordinate legislative and budgetary health policy work within the House.
