Senator Nabilah Islam Parkes has been elected as the Chair of the Georgia Senate's Gwinnett County Delegation. This delegation includes several senators representing different parts of Gwinnett County: Sen. Tonya Anderson, Sen. Bill Cowsert, Sen. Clint Dixon, Sen. Sally Harrell, Sen. Nikki Merritt, Sen. Sheikh Rahman, and Sen. Shawn Still.

"Serving as chair of the Senate’s Gwinnett County delegation is a profound honor," stated Sen. Islam Parkes following her election. She highlighted Gwinnett County's status as "the fifth most diverse county in the United States and one of the largest in Georgia." She emphasized that all members of the delegation are committed to working collaboratively for the benefit of all residents in Gwinnett County, regardless of political affiliation.

The Gwinnett County Senate Delegation stands as the second-largest bipartisan county delegation within the Georgia Senate. Its members work together to create and support legislation that aligns with the interests of Gwinnett County, which is noted as being the second-most populated county in Georgia.

Senator Nabilah Islam Parkes represents Georgia's 7th Senate District, which includes part of Gwinnett County.
