The Georgia Department of Agriculture's State Metrology Laboratory has achieved a significant milestone by receiving the 2025 Certificate of Metrological Traceability from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This certification is a recognition of the lab's adherence to ISO/IEC 17025, which is considered the gold standard for metrology laboratories.

Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper expressed his pride in the laboratory's accomplishment. "I am incredibly proud of the State Metrology Lab for earning this significant recognition," he stated. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards as a state agency to provide excellent service to Georgians. "This achievement highlights our commitment to meeting and exceeding those standards every day."

The certification confirms that the State Metrology Lab employs an advanced system that guarantees consistent, repeatable, and traceable testing with high precision and reliability. The lab undergoes an annual review by NIST to ensure ongoing compliance with top metrological standards.
