The Georgia Department of Agriculture is encouraging residents to take part in Georgia Ag Week from March 17 to 23, 2025. This annual event highlights the contributions of farmers and the agricultural sector, which is a vital component of the state's economy.

Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper emphasized the significance of this celebration, stating, “Georgia Ag Week offers a unique opportunity for all Georgians to celebrate the incredible work of our farmers — who fuel the success of our #1 industry and provide the food, fiber, and shelter we all rely on.” He also noted that as farm families continue to recover from Hurricane Helene, support for them remains crucial.

Throughout Georgia Ag Week, various events will be held each day. The schedule includes Hands-On Garden Day on March 17, Lead the Way Tuesday on March 18, Ag Hero Day on March 19, Ag Literacy Day on March 20, Farm to Table Friday on March 21, Buy Georgia Grown Day on March 22, and Sunday Funday on March 23. Details can be found at http://georgiaagweek.com.

Additionally, a photo contest is underway until March 24 at 5 p.m. Participants can submit photos in categories such as Faces of Agriculture and Open Pastures & Growing Fields. Winning entries may be featured by the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

Residents are encouraged to engage with Georgia Ag Week through social media using #GaAgWeek. More information about events and participation opportunities is available at http://georgiaagweek.com.
