The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) has announced a series of temporary lane closures on the I-285/I-20 East Interchange project, set to take place from March 17 through March 22, 2025. These closures are part of ongoing construction efforts aimed at reconstructing the interstate system-to-system ramps and adding connecting lanes and auxiliary lanes.

Daytime closures will occur from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., affecting I-20 eastbound with single right or left-lane and shoulder closures between Wesley Chapel Road and Panola Road, as well as between Columbia Drive and Wesley Chapel Road. The connecting lanes or collector-distributor lanes from the I-285 Interchange to Wesley Chapel Road will also see similar closures.

Overnight closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., impacting both eastbound and westbound directions on I-20. Specific sections include single to double lane closures between Wesley Chapel Road and Panola Road, Columbia Drive to Wesley Chapel Road, and the connecting lanes from the I-285 Interchange to Wesley Chapel Road.

Additionally, overnight traffic pacing operations will be conducted from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., affecting both directions on I-20 between Wesley Chapel Road and Columbia Drive, as well as between the I-285 Interchange and Panola Road.

Miller Road will experience flagging operations during weekdays from March 17 through March 21, occurring between Panola Industrial Boulevard and Chatooga Drive.

Furthermore, the Miller Road Bridge over I-20 remains closed until approximately September 2025 due to ongoing construction work.
