Fayette County authorities have announced that lane closures on State Route 54 in Peachtree City will take place to facilitate utility work. Georgia Power will relocate a power pole situated in the southwest quadrant of the SR 74/SR 54 intersection. To perform this task, three lanes along SR 54 will be closed. The scheduled work will occur early on a Sunday morning to lessen traffic disruptions, with flaggers on-site to aid both motorists and pedestrians.
Georgia Power's relocation of the poles is part of a Georgia Department of Transportation project. This project aims to address the current and anticipated congestion issues at the intersection.
The specific closure point is located on SR 54 at the SR 74 intersection in Peachtree City, Fayette County. The work is tentatively set to commence from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 27. However, weather and field conditions may lead to changes in this schedule.
Authorities urge drivers to approach the work zone with caution and heed any directions provided by flaggers.
