CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY: Clark Atlanta University Announces New Appointments to Board of Trustees

Clark Atlanta University issued the following announcement on July 15.

Clark Atlanta University announces Valerie Love, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Coca-Cola Company, Charmaine Ward-Millner, Corporate Relations Director for Georgia Power, and Rev. Dr. Michael T. McQueen recently joined the CAU Board of Trustees. The newly appointed trustees will replace longtime Board members Delores Aldridge, Ph.D., and William E. “Bill” Shack, both of whom have retired and named Trustees Emeritus. 

“We are overly excited about Ms. Love, Ms. Charmaine Ward-Milner, and Rev. Dr. McQueen joining the University’s Board. The wealth of knowledge, experience, national and international relationships they have cultivated will undoubtedly help to move our institution forward in its overall mission to deliver education that is accessible, relevant, and transformative,” said President George T. French Jr., Ph.D. 

Ms. Love appointed in March of 2020 currently serves as the Senior Vice President, Human Resources, for the Coca-Cola Company. Prior to joining Coca-Cola, she served as Global Vice President, Human Resources, supporting Johnson & Johnson Consumer Supply Chain and Global Quality. She also served as the Worldwide Vice President of Human Resources at Johnson and Johnson Vision Care and Vice President of Human Resources at Tyco Integrated Security. 

Ms. Ward-Millner, in her role as Georgia Power’s Corporate Relations Director, is responsible for building and maintaining key state and national relationships with diverse organizations and opinion leaders. Her efforts focus on forming strategic alliances with diverse segments of the company’s 2.5 million customers, corporate partners, and civic organizations to garner support and promote advocacy for important industry and company issues. 

Rev. Dr. McQueen served as the Senior Pastor of St. James Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia for 14 years was appointed superintendent of the central north district for the Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church in August of 2020. He is an advisor for pastors at 73 churches. St. James was cited as one of the fastest-growing congregations when he arrived in 2006, his church membership expanded from 1,500 to 3,500 members and more than 36 ministries.
