Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp traces the humanitarian crisis at the Mexican border and much of this country’s woes back to Washington and the Biden Administration’s policies.

“From gangs and human trafficking, to deadly drugs and crime, hardworking Georgians are facing the consequences of the Biden Administration’s failure on the southern border every day,” Kemp said on Twitter.

Kemp recently toured the U.S.-Mexico border where the humanitarian crisis has led to more than 1 million apprehensions since February as more and more people have attempted to enter the the United States illegally, according to WSBTV. He has criticized the Biden Administration's border control policies as being far too lax.

“Troop levels have decreased by 1,000 on this mission, and then they decreased by another 500, so there’s 1,500 less people now than when I was here before,” he said on WSBTV. “But you have an influx of people coming; you’d think it would actually be the reverse of that.”

Kemp began his tour day on Oct. 6 by thanking members of the Georgia National Guard for all they have done to support the cause. He quickly added he doesn’t think the federal government has been nearly as efficient.

Kemp was accompanied during his visit by several other governors, all of them seeking answers about improving border conditions. Several Republican governors, including Kemp, Greg Abbott of Texas and Ohio’s Mike DeWine, are asking the Biden Administration to provide more full-time troops.

The request for more of a border presence comes at a time when troops are busy processing Afghan refugees brought to the U.S. by the tens of thousands, WSBTV said.

Georgia Democrats reacted to the tour with a statement that Kemp's comments are politically motivated.
