Georgia leaders to discuss new civil rights legislation at press conference

State Representative Jasmine Clark, alongside members of the ACLU of Georgia, Urban League of Greater Atlanta, League of Women Voters of Georgia, and NAACP Georgia State Conference, is set to hold a press conference. The event will focus on civil liberties and rights within the state. It is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the South Wing Steps of the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta.

Rep. Clark plans to address House Bill 670 during the press conference. This bill, known as the Georgia Civil Rights Act of 2025, aims to establish state-level civil rights protections against discrimination in areas such as housing, public accommodations, and employment. The legislation covers discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, familial status or national origin.
