NCAA women's basketball fans across the country now know what University of Georgia fans have known for a long time: Que Morrison is one of the best point guards around.
To reinforce that, Morrison just made the cut on the Dawn Staley Award late-season watch list, the Bulldogs reported in a release.
"Que Morrison has been named to the watch list for the Dawn Staley Award, which recognizes the top guard in the country," the Bulldogs said on Twitter. "Congratulations, Que!"
She is one of 17 collegiate guards to make the list, the Bulldogs reported. Four finalists will be announced in the middle of March, and the winner will be announced April 7.
Morrison has earned recognition for her on-court prowess before. She has made the Naismith National Defensive Player of the Year watch list, and last season she was named a Southeastern Conference (SEC) Defensive Player of the Year, the Bulldogs reported.
Morrison, a graduate student in her final year of eligibility, had scored at least 10 points in every conference contest this season before the announcement, the Bulldogs reported. She holds the No. 3 spot in the conference rankings when it comes to assists with 4.9 per game, is second in free-throw percentage with 89%, and made the top 10 when it comes to steals with 2.1 per game.
