Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr has called on the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to repeal a rule that allows biological males to participate in women's sports. Carr underscored the importance of fair competition and pledged his office's commitment to exploring legal solutions to this issue.

"Today I call on the NCAA to do the right thing & repeal the rule that allows biological males to participate in women's sports," said Carr, Customer Service Representative, according to X. "Our office is exploring all legal options available to end this absurdity, & we will continue fighting for women's rights to fair competition."

The NCAA Board of Governors recently revised its policy on transgender student-athlete participation, aligning it with the Olympic Movement. The new policy introduces a sport-specific approach to determine eligibility. It mandates transgender student-athletes to provide documentation meeting certain criteria, including testosterone levels. The policy will be implemented in three phases: immediate effect for winter and spring championships, documentation required for regular season and championships starting Aug. 1, 2022, and full implementation by Aug. 1, 2024. The policy also allows for future eligibility adjustments, according to information available on the NCAA webpage.
