Joint committee on defense and veterans affairs to meet in Augusta

The Joint Defense and Veterans Affairs Committee is scheduled to hold its second meeting on Tuesday, November 19, at 10:00 a.m. in Augusta. The committee is chaired by Senator Chuck Payne from Dalton and Representative Josh Bonner from Fayetteville.

The meeting will take place at the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center located at 1 11th Street, Augusta, GA 30901. It is open to the public and will be available for live streaming on the House website.

The Joint Defense and Veterans Affairs Committee merges the Senate Veterans, Military and Homeland Security Standing Committee with the House Defense & Veterans Affairs Standing Committee. During this session, testimony will be provided by Patricia Ross, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Veterans Services. Additionally, various veteran services organizations will discuss key issues concerning veterans in Georgia.
