The Georgia House Democratic Caucus has elected State Representative Tanya F. Miller (D-Atlanta) as the House Minority Caucus Chairman for the 2025-2026 legislative term. The election took place during caucus elections on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

Rep. Miller expressed gratitude to her colleagues for the election, stating, “Thank you to my fellow colleagues for electing me to serve as the Democratic Caucus Chair.” She emphasized the importance of prioritizing democracy and addressing constituents' concerns. "We cannot afford to sit back while our constituents express their fears and concerns," she said. "In fact, we will fight even harder to protect Georgians’ rights, and I know that we will work to find solutions to our great state’s concerns."

As House Minority Caucus Chairman, Rep. Miller will lead operations including presiding over meetings, overseeing incumbent re-elections, and spearheading candidate recruitment.

This marks Rep. Miller's second term in the Georgia House of Representatives and her first term as Minority Caucus Chairman.
