State Representatives Kim Schofield and Sandra Scott recently attended the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) 2024 Annual Conference in Atlanta. They participated in a roundtable discussion led by Georgia's female lobbyists, a group advocating for policies addressing the needs of all Georgians. The event brought together elected leaders from all 50 states to highlight the role of female lobbyists in shaping policy and legislation.

"Female lobbyists are an essential force in Georgia’s political landscape," said Rep. Schofield. "They bring unique insights to the table, often bridging divides and advancing policies that benefit not just women but all people."

Rep. Scott, Chairwoman of the NFWL, stated, "Having Georgia’s top female lobbyists lead this conversation is a testament to the strength and impact of women in politics and policy advocacy."

The roundtable included legislators, policymakers, and advocates discussing women's roles in lobbying and their contributions to issues like healthcare, education, economic empowerment, and social justice. The session emphasized the need for diverse perspectives in legislation and how female lobbyists can build coalitions and foster collaboration.

Participants acknowledged the expertise shared during the discussion, noting its impact on shaping legislation concerning healthcare access, reproductive rights, education reform, and economic equality.

The NFWL is a nonprofit organization supporting women in public office by providing resources to enhance leadership. With members from all 50 states, it aims to foster inclusivity and support women as legislators.
