The Georgia House of Representatives has appointed State Representative Teddy Reese to serve on several committees for the 2025-2026 legislative term. Rep. Reese, representing Columbus, will be part of the House Agriculture & Consumer Affairs Committee and the newly formed Special Committee on Resource Management. Additionally, he has been reappointed to the Economic Development & Tourism and Public and Community Health committees.

Rep. Reese expressed his commitment to addressing significant issues affecting Georgia through these roles. "I am honored to be serving on these committees, where I will have the opportunity to address critical issues impacting our state," said Rep. Reese. He emphasized agriculture's importance as Georgia’s largest economic sector and his dedication to supporting farmers, ensuring food safety, and strengthening agricultural and consumer industries.

He also highlighted the significance of managing Georgia's resources sustainably through his work with the Special Committee on Resource Management: "It is our responsibility to manage Georgia’s resources wisely, from water to land, ensuring they are used sustainably to benefit both our environment and our economy."

The House Agricultural and Consumer Affairs Committee handles legislation related to agriculture, human nutrition, food safety, consumer food consumption, and the plant industry. The Economic Development & Tourism Committee promotes economic growth by overseeing business policies and evaluating measures that could impact tourism in Georgia. Meanwhile, the Public and Community Health Committee focuses on initiatives aimed at improving healthcare quality for Georgians.

The new Special Committee on Resource Management will concentrate on managing energy demands arising from data centers relocating to Georgia.
