State Representative Chris Erwin, Chairman of the House Education Committee, is set to participate in Georgia Reads Day at the Georgia State Capitol. The event will take place on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m., and will also feature House Speaker Jon Burns and the Georgia Council on Literacy.

Malcolm Mitchell, CEO and Founder of the Share the Magic Foundation and Georgia Reads Coach for Georgia Reads, will announce the winners of two significant awards. Ten recipients will receive the Georgia Reads Community Award. This award aims to strengthen and unite literacy efforts across communities. In addition to recognition, these communities will receive $25,000 each to further support their literacy initiatives.

The event is organized by Georgia Reads in partnership with the Georgia Municipal Association and its nonprofit arm, Georgia City Solutions. The initiative focuses on raising awareness about improving reading skills across all age groups.
