The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced planned lane closures around Interstate 85 at State Route 42/North Druid Hills Road. These closures are scheduled to take place from March 25 through March 30, 2025, weather permitting.
Daytime closures will occur on Saturday, March 29, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., affecting one right lane on I-85 northbound Frontage Road from SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to Cliff Valley Way.
Overnight closures are set for Tuesday, March 25, to Friday, March 28, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. These include the closure of one left lane on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound from I-85 to Briarcliff Road and pacing at several intersections including Buford Highway and SR 42/North Druid Hills Road.
Detours have been outlined for motorists affected by these closures. For instance, those traveling on I-85 southbound Frontage Road to SR 42/North Druid Hills Road should use I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road as an alternative route.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution in work zones. Real-time updates can be accessed by calling 511 or visiting the website at www.511ga.org.
