Rep. Andrew Sorrell has written a letter in support of Congressman Mo Brooks’ call to challenge the Electoral College votes in a Congressional hearing scheduled for Jan. 6.

Sorrell posted the letter on Facebook on Dec. 18.

“I am asking all of my Republican colleagues in the State House and Senate to add their names to this effort,” Sorrel wrote. “Representative Tommy Hanes has already taken this public stand and has joined me in this effort by adding his name at the top of the list.”

Sorrell added that he would be emailing the letter to all of his colleagues, asking them for support. He also urged his Facebook followers to reach out to their legislators to join the effort.

“This letter encourages our two Senators and our remaining Republican Congressmen to support Mo Brooks in his request for a thorough investigation into the widespread voter fraud in a number of swing states (Congressman Mike Rogers has already voiced support for Mo Brooks’ efforts.),” he wrote. “If they will stand for us in Washington, we will stand with them at the next election!”

As Trump Delegation Chairman to the 2020 convention, Sorrell said he felt compelled to “stand up for the President” at a time when others are turning away from him, and said it is imperative that the American people have confidence in the election process.

“I hope that the rest of the Alabama Legislature will join me by signing this open letter to our federal delegation,” he said.
