An Atlanta attorney has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. Supreme Court of Appeals to stop the Georgia runoff election from occurring next week.

L. Lin Wood Jr. filed the emergency petition for writ of mandamus before the Supreme Court against Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, Georgia State Election Board Vice Chair Rebecca N. Sullivan and Georgia State Election Board members David J. Worley, Matthew Mashburn and Anh Le.

Wood wants the U.S. Supreme Court to answer a question regarding the right to vote regarding whether Wood, as a voter, has standing to challenge state action due to underlying wrong infringes on the right to vote.

Wood is requesting in the petition an immediate emergency writ of injunction to order Raffensperger and the board officials to stop the runoff election from happening on Jan. 5. He says the district court made a mistake in dismissing his complaint and temporary restraining order earlier this month when it concluded that he lacked standing.

“Time is short so Petitioners will get straight to the point: Petitioner’s Complaint to the District Court is part of a larger effort to expose and reverse an unprecedented conspiracy to steal the 2020 General Election, as well as the January 5, 2021, senatorial runoff election in the State of Georgia,” the petition states.

Wood says in the petition that he and others like him want to expose the massive election fraud that occurred during the election that will likely repeat itself during the Senate runoff.

Wood is seeking an emergency order instructing Raffensperger and the board members to halt the election and for the court to order the production of all registration data, ballots and envelopes required by the state and to refrain from wiping or tampering with voting machines that were used in the November election.
