LOCAL COMPANY VIDEOS ADD VALUE FOR JOBSEEKERS

Associate Vice President of Workforce Solutions, Jasmine Sims, recently led a film crew to capture employer and employee videos at local companies. This project is part of an ambitious effort to curate local worker testimonials in high demand jobs and feature local companies on the regional job marketplace talent2work.net. The Chamber would like to thank our first round of participating employers for engaging with us to make local workforce opportunities come alive. If your company would like to be featured on talent2work.net and you have an employee that would like to be filmed as a testimonial to the work they do, please reach out to Jasmine Sims. Our thanks to August’s video partners go to...

FROM PANDEMIC TO SANSDEMIC AT MEMBER ECONOMIC LUNCHEON

On Wednesday, September 29, join us for a moderated panel discussion with Cal Wray, Augusta Economic Development Authority, Dr. Jermaine Whirl of Augusta Technical College, Brittany Burnett with United Way of the CSRA, and Mary Hayes, WorkBay.

The Augusta Region faces a shortage of workers as does the nation. Some of this disruption in the labor pool continues to be fueled by the pandemic, however many believe that the current worker shortage is decades in the making. This program will focus on opportunities to expand the labor market with more ready-to-work entry level engagement, upskilling the underemployed and earlier intervention at the K-12 level. It will also provide insight on the economic costs to our region of underemployment and unemployment.
