New Georgia men's basketball coach Mike White has added Erik Pastrana to his staff as an assistant coach for the Georgia Bulldogs.

White described Pastrana as "exceptional with his inter-relation skills and ability to connect young men," and emphasized his work ethic in recruiting and skill development, a recent release on GeorgiaDogs.com said.

"I am beyond excited to join Coach White at the University of Georgia," Pastrana said in the release. "I share the same vision as Coach White in seeing the limitless potential of Georgia basketball. Now, it's time to get to work and build something special that Georgia fans everywhere can be proud of. Go Dawgs!"

Pastrana spent last season as a member of White's staff at Florida and has seen success coaching at Oklahoma State, Florida Atlantic, Florida International and Stephen F. Austin, the release said.

As an assistant at Oklahoma State, Pastrana also had a hand in the recruitment of Cade Cunningham, the 2021 Big 12 Player of the Year who later became the top pick in the NBA Draft, the release said.

Pastrana comes to the team after helping the Gators post a 20-14 record and reach the second round of the 2022 NIT, the release said. In the two seasons prior, he worked as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Oklahoma State.

Pastrana is a 2007 graduate of Florida State and holds a master's degree in counseling and student development from Kansas State (2009), the release said.

New orders for renewable Georgia basketball season tickets are currently available to be purchased at $285 each (includes a $150 donation to the Georgia Bulldog Club and Men's Basketball Fund), the release said. These include reserved seats to all non-conference games as well as the Bulldogs' nine home SEC games.
