The Georgia House Democratic Caucus has chosen State Representative Spencer Frye from Athens to take on the role of House Minority Caucus Vice-Chairman. The election took place during caucus elections held on November 14, 2024.

Representative Frye expressed his gratitude for the appointment, stating, “It is an honor to have been elected to the position of Democratic Caucus Vice-Chair, and I look forward to serving alongside Chair Miller and our entire leadership team.” He emphasized the importance of the upcoming legislative term in safeguarding citizens' rights. "While we fought a great fight in our previous legislative term, we have much work to do in ensuring we win on legislation that defends our constituents’ rights and upholds our values," he added. Frye also mentioned his anticipation for the caucus's return to the Capitol this winter.

In his new role, Rep. Frye will be responsible for various tasks including assisting with member services and incumbent re-election efforts, recruiting candidates, fundraising for the caucus, utilizing technology effectively, and presiding over meetings when the chair is absent.

This marks Rep. Frye’s seventh term as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives but his first time serving as Minority Caucus Vice-Chairman.
