Governor Brian P. Kemp, in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), announced that Georgia's exports exceeded $53.1 billion, marking a 6.4% increase from the previous year and surpassing the national average growth rate of 2.3%. The state advanced to sixth place in the United States for trade value, engaging in over $198.7 billion worth of trade with 222 countries and territories.

Governor Kemp emphasized the role of small businesses, stating, "With more than 87% of Georgia exporters being small businesses, these record-breaking numbers represent economic opportunity and success in every corner of the state." He added that Georgia's growth in exports demonstrates effective strategic investments and collaboration with job creators.

In 2024, Georgia maintained its position as No. 12 in the U.S. for export value, exporting to 219 destinations. The leading export products included civilian aircraft and parts, motor vehicles, computers, telephone sets, and medical devices.

Pat Wilson, GDEcD Commissioner, highlighted Georgia's diverse industries and global connectivity: "Georgia offers extensive partnerships...that empower businesses to thrive in the global market." He credited local leaders and partners for supporting business expansion both locally and globally.

The state's international trade efforts are supported by representatives worldwide who connect Georgia exporters with global customers. In markets where Georgia has full-time representation, these accounted for 66% of exports and 83% of bilateral trade last year.

Deputy Commissioner Lizann Grupalo noted the importance of partnerships: "A fourth consecutive year of record-breaking exports is an incredible accomplishment...Their contributions allow our Georgia-based team members to serve Georgia’s small business exporters."

Georgia boasts significant infrastructure assets such as Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport; Port of Savannah; Port of Brunswick; as well as a robust rail and highway network.
