State Representative Sandra Scott and Senator Tonya Anderson, both veterans, recently organized the 10th anniversary of the Women Veterans Legislative Breakfast at the Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta. This event was held to honor Military Women Veterans Day at the Capitol and celebrate the contributions of women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
"We celebrate a decade of advocacy, but our work is far from done," stated Rep. Scott. "We will continue fighting for the respect, recognition and resources that our women veterans deserve."
"This milestone anniversary marks a decade of recognizing the contributions of women veterans and advocating for policies that improve their quality of life," commented Sen. Anderson. "We remain steadfast in our commitment to ensuring that our women warriors receive the support and recognition they have earned."
Rep. Davis also shared her perspective: "As a veteran myself, I understand the sacrifices and struggles that come with service. It is imperative that we push for policies that provide comprehensive support and empower our women veterans beyond their time in uniform."
The event featured discussions, networking opportunities, and acknowledged women veterans making significant impacts within their communities. The gathering highlighted progress made over ten years while addressing ongoing efforts to advance rights and opportunities for military women veterans across Georgia. Discussions covered issues such as access to healthcare, housing, employment, and legislative initiatives aimed at enhancing benefits and services.
