The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced planned lane closures around Interstate 85 at State Route 42/North Druid Hills Road due to construction activities. Weather permitting, these closures will occur from March 21 through March 30, 2025.

According to GDOT, the work schedule may be updated daily. "Work schedule updates can be made daily. Check project web page often for the latest updates," they advise.

The lane closures are scheduled as follows:

- Daytime Closures: On Saturday, March 22 and Saturday, March 29, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., one right lane on I-85 northbound Frontage Road from SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to Cliff Valley Way will be closed.

- Overnight Closures: From Friday, March 21 at 8 p.m. to Saturday, March 23 at 11 a.m., one left lane on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound from Executive Park Drive to Briarcliff Road will be closed. Additionally, pacing will occur at SR 42/North Druid Hills Road and the I-85 northbound intersection.

GDOT advises motorists traveling on I-85 southbound who wish to reach SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to continue on I-85 southbound and use Lenox Road (Exit 88) before accessing SR 42/North Druid Hills Road via I-85 northbound.

Further closures include two left lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound at I-85 from Friday, March 21 at 8 p.m. until Sunday, March 23 at 11 a.m.

Motorists are encouraged to expect delays and exercise caution while navigating these work zones. For real-time updates on work status and traffic conditions, GDOT recommends calling their hotline or visiting their website.
